Looking back now it seems so far. I best remembered this year where i attended 2 of my best friends wedding and my work.

History is something we can look back at and learn something from it. So my lessons learnt in 2007 from myself and my friends.

1. Work is always stressful so dun think too much abt it
2. Sleep is important
3. Dun skip lunch
4. Never trust a woman with a sup card
5. Dun drink too much alcohol
6. Dun spend too much $$$
7. Dun neglect friends
8. Must save up more $$$
9. Must attend more lessons
10. Dun study one day before exam
11. Start doing my assignment earlier
12. Its always happier to be loved more than to give more love

So hope everyone enjoyed 2007 and have a happier 2008

2nd day of the new year and already i m complaining. Thou stats shows that singapore has a very positive financial increment in 2007 but seems my pay is still insufficient to sustain the increasing living standards. Haiz

And seems my bills are getting endless these past few months, paying bills has been a weekly affair to me now so when can this finally stop? Think i gotta work even harder and go out lesser to make ends meet.

Haha dun know why is there a sudden urge to complain maybe its due to the $203 raoul bill.

Seems that i am starting to become a steamboat expert. I haf been having steamboat dinner once every 2 weeks since Sep. Being a true blue Singaporean, i am always looking for the one which offer the most at the lowest price. What a discovery it was for me when i chance upon fortune cuisine at sunset way. Havnt been to sunset way for some donkey years and was quite surprise to how it have developed. With a few particular gd restaurant (To be reviewed another day).

Fortune cuisine for just one price it offers both a steamboat and bbq buffet. If i didnt remember wrongly Weekday Lunch $17.80++, Dinner $22.80++ Weekend Lunch $22.80++, Dinner $27.80++. What it serves:

Seafood: Crayfish, flower crab, prawns, green mussels, cockles, fish, shishamo (which is my fav). They are all so fresh as compared to some steamboat restautants where you wouldnot want another bite after just 1 mouthful.

Meat: Sorry i wouldnt even bother to name them cos there are just so many. Beef short rib, beef belly, beef steak, teriyaki chicken, mongolia lamb, beef shabu shabu, pork belly and so much more. Look at the beef they are marbled somemore talk abt quality food. And again all so fresh.

Cooked food: Curry chicken, fried rice, dried chilli chicken, sashimi, sushi, tempuras. I didnt try much of the cooked food cos was too full after 3 serving of seafood and 4 serving of meat. But discovered their ebi tempura is very popular, theres a chef whose job is to fry them all night and i literally mean all night. I m there at 6pm till 8pm and i didnt even see him stop frying. Talk abt popular. The Ebi tempura ran out the moment it touch the tray. I had to wait for a few rounds before i can get 3 of them. When i finally had them its alreadycoming to the end of my meal but it still taste so delicious. Batter was light and prawn was fresh. (Comparable to all the mid class jap restaurants where you need to dish out $6 for just 3 of them)

Service: Most of the waiters and waitress looks like students working part-time but under the strict supervision of the manager. Service is good. All requests were attended to immediately and they will even help you bbq the food if you ask them to.

BBQ: Shishamo, Crayfish, Flower Crab

Ebi Tempura

Jap food

Overall: A place with good food at a reasonable price which i will recommend to all.

Busy 3 Days

7 Dec

Back at work exams, clearing up all the work and haf meeting on 8 morning. Pick up sis at airport in the afternoon. Shes back for 3 wks cos its christmas break in UK.

8 Dec

Meeting at 9 am with my new Council and since its the first meeting i m loaded with work by them. (Must clear them b4 my Christmas Holidays)

Meet Family for Lunch at Sze Chuan Court Raffles the Plaza

Sze Chuan Court is a chinese restaurant serving sze chuan and cantonese cuisine and it has seats with window view overseeing our world famous "durian shells" Esplanade.

We ordered

Claypot Chicken (Which taste very homecook and same as my mum's cooking, they even used the same ingredients)
Steam Cod fish (Also taste like mum's)
Vege in herbal broth (Subtle and home cooked)
Smoked duck with camphor and tea leaf (One of their recommended dish and it didnt disappoint. Even sis whose not a duck fan had seconds)

Then we went shopping for sport shoes for mum and sis. After which went OG cos mum and sis wanna shop for comestic and clothes. Tired Tired day.

9 Dec

Was up early to haf breakfast (Haiz seems i m really in need of sleep) then went Fairprice Finest for some groceries. Sis & me haf been wanting to visit Finest for quite sometime cos of the hype of different food from all over the world but discovered its just something like Jason's Market.

Very tiring wkend but glad sis is back.

Injuries

Haiz....a week of injuries for me...first my foot now my head
Sad to say my work place is a very small confined space abt 3m x 3m
Thus a cabinet is installed over where i m sitting. Banged my head hard onto it on Wed.
Can still feel the bruise and pain today. This is the 2nd time in 4 mths. Hope it will be the last.

Ah my foot!!! I went to Batam yesterday and went for a foot massage which cost $12 for 1 1/2 hrs. Which is very cheap compared to sg normally cost abt $40 for a session. It didnt felt very comfortable and today to my horror my right foot hurts like h*** Now i m walking with a limp and it hurts every time i walk. Sianz

Ironically, last week i was still trying to plan a short holiday during the short break in Nov due to Deepavali. Haha going to be broke in Nov.

Penne Con Ragu (Penne with Meat Sauce)

It has been almost a year since i last cooked (Getting a bit rusty). Cooking is one of my fav. hobbies since i started when i was 12. Today i cooked my fav. - Pasta. Fell in love with pasta when i was in poly, esp those with tomato base cos its so simple to cook yet delicious.

I am an easily satisfied person, just contented with a simple yet happy life just like pasta. But it seems during the past few weeks and things tat are going to happen in the next few weeks will be making my life complicated and miserable. Well if tats my destiny i will have to face it bravely. For i control my own destiny.

Enough said for the recipe pls refer below:

Serves 4

1 diced onion, 1 clove of chopped garlic, 500g of minced meat (can be pork or veal), 3 tins of plum tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, ketchup, mixes herbs of rosemary & dried oregano, bag of penne

1. Lighly colour the onion and garlic in olive oil for abt 10 mins medium heat.

2. Pour in the tomatoes, minced meat, herbs and add ketchup, dash of salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar to taste. Simmer in low heat abt 30 mins.

3. Cook the penne in salted hot water till al dente.

4. Pour in the cooked penne into the meat sauce and stir well.

5. Serve with some olive oil, herbs and grated parmesan cheese. (Easily done)

Celebrated my dad's birthday today which is on next sat but i will be away for a short holiday next weekend so we decided to do it today. Nothing much just a normal dinner and i bought him a cake. 5 more days of hard work b4 my well deserved holiday.

cNothing to blog recently, cause i m so busy with work. For the past week it has been work, work n more work. Hope it will start to improve next week.

Haha the most interesting thing should be when i see blood flowing out from my nose last night and tonight after my daily workout sessions. Think i am overheated (热血男儿). In the end gotta plug it with a cotton, looks damn funny (sorry no pics)

Loneliness

Sis went back to UK for her studies on thurs and suddenly i m overwhelmed by an epitome of loneliness. Fortunately (or unluckily) i m so tied down by work, worked fullday on sat & even gotta go back office today morning at 730am due to an emergency.

Busy

Wat a busy day. But first CONGRATS to TJ, my friend of 13 yrs, today is his big day. Wishing him a blissful and happy marriage. & Happy Birthday to KS & Stella.

Today was on leave to attend TJ wedding ceremony and lunch but was still up at 730am to have breakfast with my sis cos today is her 2nd last day in sg before going to UK for her masters.

We went to IMM for a Hong Kong style breakfast (too rush no pics) at Wan Chai Tea House before i attended the wedding.

After the wedding met up with sis to go buy the famous Ang Ku Kuehs from the 2 famous shops in Bukit Merah, Poh Cheu and Da Shen Ah Ma.

Personally i prefers Poh Cheu's cause the skin is so soft and melts in the mouth. The filling also complements the skin. A match made in Heaven (Just like the newly wedded couple)

Then we proceeded to Vivo. I bought a rolled up long sleeve shirt (which i have been eyeing for quite sometime) from River Island (River Island is having a 20% discount when you charge $80 to any OCBC credit card till 7 Oct) and sis (a coffee connoisseur cum addict :p) got her daily dose of coffee from Gloria Jeans.

Damage = $75

When i came home, found this lying on my bed. Its an invitation to a Moet & Chandon Event (Details below). Any1 interested? Let me know cos i m not attending (Self imposed ban on chionging and drinking)

Still experiencing my hangover from fri, i made my way to The Cathay with sis to visit one of my fav. shops whathewants to buy some Billy Jealousy products (Ouch just burnt a hole in my wallet).

Whathewants is a men's novelty shop which houses some of the best men's grooming products from around the globe. Finally a shop thats solely for us guys. So guys be sure to check it out.

After which we went to Ah Teng's Bakery at Raffles Hotel for afternoon tea. Wat a discovery! Thou i have been working near Raffles Hotel for almost a year, i have never been to this bakery. (This is the bakery which bakes the original Raffles mooncake)

Ah Teng's serves pastries, cakes, bread and even Chinese dim sum in a 70's coffee shop decor. There are sandwich/pizza lunch set menu and high tea set menu (scones, cake or cookie with tea/coffee) which costs less than $10. Pics of the cakes we bought:

Blackout

Last night went drinking with Danny, Calvin, SM, Fenny & her family at 绯闻 in Clarke Quay. I was "offered" quite a considerable amount of alcohol by my "good" buddies and blackout occurs. I vividly remember walking out of the pub and the next thing i know i woke up in my bed this morning. I simply couldnt remember wat happened after i got out and how i got home. Scary.

Lesson learnt: Never to drink Chivas Regal anymore. Never to drink so much alcohol. Wat happened between those few hours still remains a mystery to me. I am just glad that i returned home safe and sound.

PS: My first time getting drunk was also drinking Chivas.

Couldnt resist and ate the chocolate banana cake during dinner time.
A tad disappointed. Felt it doesnot taste chocolaty enough and the banana is not sweet.

Just attended D & R Shanghai Theme wedding. Very innovative and surreal.

Went to my fav. party joint DRAGONFLY after the wedding with my bosses, Desmond, Danny, Calvin & his gal Sandra. But in the end they left me there by myself.
